Chefs from around the nation taking off their clothes to show their appreciation for the Vita-Prep blender and help support the Jean-Louis Palladin Foundation. The chefs are depicted in an 18-month calendar unveiled earlier this year at the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago. The calendar is available at the Vita-Mix booth #341 at the NAFEM show in New Orleans or at www.chefscalendar.com.

“Chefs like our blender so much they are willing to endorse it naked,” said D. Scott Hinckley, Director of Sales and Marketing for Vita-Mix. “We’ve received great feedback from our ‘chefs naked with their blender’ advertisements, so we decided to offer the photos in a calendar.”

The calendar is a follow-up to the popular magazine advertising campaign which features well-known chefs espousing the virtues of the Vita-Mix Vita-Prep blender. The chefs appear naked in the advertisements, using the Vita-Prep to cover key body parts.

Jean-Louis Palladin was among the top chefs in the world and was the first chef to appear in the Vita-Mix ad campaign. He opened Jean-Louis at the Watergate and was one of the youngest chefs in history to earn two Michelin stars. He died in 2001 of lung cancer and the Jean Louis Palladin Foundation has been set up to make sure that his passion for great product endures forever through hands on internships and close relationships with purveyors, cooks and chefs. “Palladin always got a kick out of the ads, so this is a fitting way for Vita-Mix to support his legacy,” said Jimmy Sneed, celebrity chef and consultant to Vita-Mix.

The Vita-Prep blender’s versatility, durability and power make it the top choice for chefs (both clothed and naked) who use it to create purées, dressings, salsas and more. It can purée ingredients to make innovative, profitable menu items, and has the power to chop fresh vegetables, nuts, hard cheeses and other products.

A 2+ peak horsepower motor gives the Vita-Prep the power to grind whole spices into flavorful recipe ingredients or rice, grains, beans and pasta into fresh flour. It’s variable speed control allows ingredients to be blended, puréed or processed at exactly the correct speed.

For more than 80 years, the Vita-Mix Foodservice Division has designed and manufactured quality engineered, high-performance commercial drink blenders and food mixers. Built for outstanding durability and versatility, Vita-Mix products are the top choice of restaurateurs and bartenders for both back-of-the-house and front-of-the-house applications. Vita-Mix has blending experts on staff ready to assist operators with their pressing needs related to profitability, labor optimization, food safety/sanitation and technology.
