Established in 1929, MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc. is the premiere pheasant producer in the United States and is a 2nd generation family owned and operated farm. MacFarlane's has passed a rigorous 3rd party audit to assure the pheasants are raised naturally - on an all vegetable based diet in free range flight pens and barns. MacFarlane's also is a voluntary member of the NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Program) which requires testing flocks every 180 days for Avian Influenza (AI) as well as other avian diseases. MacFarlane's takes the AI threat seriously enough to test our flocks every 90 days, and maintains a strict biosecurity policy to minimize disease on our farm and in our flocks. Some of the biosecurity measures include foot baths at the doors of barns and pens, netted outdoor pens to minimize contact with wild birds and maintaining physical distance between the breeder farm, hatchery and grow out farm.
