ENODIS LEADS 2006 KITCHEN INNOVATION AWARDS
NRA accolades signal strong start to another award-winning year.
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – For the second year in a row, Enodis plc (www.enodis.com) leads the foodservice industry in innovation, receiving top recognition from the National Restaurant Association in two categories in this year’s Kitchen Innovation Awards. A blue-ribbon panel of judges, representing multiunit operators and design consultants from companies including Disneyland Resorts, Quiznos Subs, ARAMARK and McDonald’s, selected winners in a total of 18 groups. Cleveland Range and Lincoln, both Enodis companies, received top recognition in their respective categories. Since the competition began in 2004, Enodis has received a total of six Kitchen Innovation awards, more than any other foodservice company. Each of this year’s winners will be featured in an interactive pavilion during the National Restaurant Show in Chicago.
Specific products honored this year –
The Convotherm Combi Oven-Steamer was selected because of the many ways in which it simplifies the kitchen. Introduced as part of the Cleveland steam equipment line in the US, the Convotherm Combi Oven-Steamer is available globally. The “Advanced Closed System +3” automatically maintains humidity levels based on the type of food being prepared while providing faster cooking times than other combi ovens. The Crisp & Tasty feature keeps moisture inside of food while producing crispier, perfectly-browned appearance and texture. The patented disappearing door makes the kitchen safer by eliminating the need to reach over or walk around oven doors.
Lincoln Conveyor Toaster (Model CCP 2116 IR) featuring a parabolic cavity roof design combined with convection heating and a heat-containing air curtain. Judges said the toaster provided highly uniform cooking, improved energy efficiency and faster cooking times. The innovative design and simple-to-use advanced controls also impressed the judges.
“We are delighted to receive these awards, recognition of our continuing commitment to innovation, said David McCulloch, CEO of Enodis. “Enodis is increasing investment at its Technology Center and operating companies to develop new food and beverage equipment to meet the needs of customers, including speed, energy efficiency, productivity and safety. The Convotherm ovens and Lincoln toasters are great examples of this strategy.”
