The Knife Industry has enjoyed tremendous success and growth over the years.
The Knifemakers: with Artisanship of materials, techniques & aesthetic of their art.
The Collectors: with deep appreciation of their work and stewardship of the Fine Cutlery Industry.
We are in a renaissance of creativity in the Cutlery World. Yet, the Cutlery World hasn’t been exposed to other affinity groups that would equally benefit from this renaissance of Artisanship.
The Culinary and Art worlds have not yet been introduced to the level of workmanship and artistry of this functional art available for their benefit.
The explosion of interest in all things Culinary has affected many areas. Examples are:
Chefs and Restauranteurs; as a profession and passion.
Foodies; as a hobby, lifestyle and passion.
This has manifested itself into the mass market as evidenced by The Slow Movement, the growth of Organics, sustainable farming, etc. and indicates that there is an untapped area of mutual benefit in bridging these Communities. The Collectors’ Show provides a new venue to address the current reality.
The Inaugural Collectors' Show will showcase about 30 exceptional Knifemaker/Artists who will be presenting their Fine Cutlery and related art works to this new audience.
