NTF Promotes Staff Member to Government Affairs Position
Christy Marr Promoted to Coordinator of Government Affairs
Orlando, Fla. - February 10, 2006 - National Turkey Federation (NTF) President Alice Johnson announced the promotion of Christy Marr to coordinator of government affairs.
"Christy has shown dedication, hard-work and commitment to the NTF mission," said Johnson. "She will strengthen the regulatory and legislative teams as they strive to protect and promote the turkey industry."
As coordinator of government affairs, Marr will help plan and execute turkey industry contacts with Congress and regulatory agencies. One of her primary responsibilities will be the staff liaison for the Worker Safety and Health and Human Resource committees. Marr will also help manage all activities associated with TURPAC, the turkey industry's political action committee.
Marr was most recently NTF's public relations assistant, where she was the consumer and media contact for nutritional and food safety information about turkey products. She also researched and analyzed poultry statistics. Marr was coordinator and in-house graphic designer for NTF's monthly newsletter and issue-specific brochures.
Marr joined NTF after graduating with a bachelor's degree in economics from Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business, in Blacksburg, Va.
The National Turkey Federation is the advocate for all segments of the U.S. turkey industry, providing services and conducting activities, which increase demand for its members' products and protect and enhance the ability to effectively and profitably provide wholesome, high quality, nutritious turkey products.
