The National Restaurant Association
2003 Ice Carving Classic
Premiers $2500 Winner-Take-All Challenge Matches
Competitive Ice Carvers Apply

The National Restaurant Association 2003 Ice Carving Classic is selecting six competitive ice carvers to compete in the new, $2500 Winner-Take-All Ice Carving Challenge Matches.

This new competitive format pits a pool of six, chain saw wielding ice carvers against one another in four, one-on-one challenges. The top four carvers advance from pool play to single elimination challenge matches on the events final day. The $2500 Championship Match will take place at 2:30 PM on May 20.

"This is a completely new type of ice carving competition," says Joe Amendola, Ice Carving Classic Judge. "Not only are we adopting a sports tournament format, selected audience members will be able to participate in the judging. Each challenge match will have a winner and a loser. Play goes on until one player is left standing. It's going to be a very exciting ice carving competition."

The 2003 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show is the largest gathering of restaurant-and-hospitality professionals in the country, held May 17-20, 2003. Each year, more than 75,000 industry professionals and nearly 1,950 exhibitors attend the Show at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Competitors and judging candidates can contact Chuck Wagner at 312-853-2525 or email proice2000@aol.com for applications.
