For Immediate Release:
Canadian Personal Chef Alliance:
Seeking to generate a strong "name brand" identity, one of Canada's fastest growing alliances for Personal Chefs changes it's name July 1st 2002, from the Personal Chef Alliance to the Canadian Personal Chef Alliance. http://www.canadianpersonalchefalliance.com
Terry Henderson and partner Paul Foster (who were recently featured in the National Post) decided the change needed to be made, "we both felt that as we are truly a Canadian owned and operated Alliance, we should focus on that in our name" said Foster. "Over 90% of our members are from Canada, although we do have members in other countries" says Henderson, "and as our name now says we are very proud of that fact"
With the launch of the new name, also come some other changes, firstly the new materials, Henderson says that after working long and hard with Liaison college (Ontario based culinary colleges with 6 campuses) we are now able to offer a Vocational training program, the first of it's kind in Canada, and with that comes the Canadian Personal Chef Alliances own Food safety program. "We also have just strengthened our ties with the American Personal Chef Association, http://www.personalchef.com one of the first and biggest associations in the world, Our vision of the industry is the same, both Candy Wallace (the owner of the American Personal Chef Association) and myself are in this for the long haul", says Henderson "and realise that there is alot of work to be done in educating both the public and new Personal Chefs about this relatively new industry. "In fact Canadian Personal Chef Alliance members have been invited to attend the annual American Personal Chef Association conference in Florida in September" says Foster for the first time it will truly be an international meeting of Personal Chefs associations.
We are determined to become the number one resource for Personal Chefs in Canada, whilst still remaining affordable, "There is another association for Personal Chefs in Canada, say's Foster but it is VERY expensive to join" "and for many people going into our new industry that cost is just too high"!!
"While offering a variety of benefits to our members including marketing info, business start-up materials, recipes, a free static website and access to special group insurance rates, all for $650 including a years membership, we feel we offer a great price point. we also try to create public awareness as to what it is that Personal Chefs do and are currently in the middle of a huge "cross Ontario" promotion with Labatts, and will be attending both the Markham home show and the National Womens show in November, and we can say one thing to our members, we are out there everyday working in the kitchens of our clients with them, so we know what is involved, and what it takes to succeed!
