Ivy Inn’s Chef/Owner to Prepare Feast at James Beard House
The Ivy Inn Restaurant’s chef/owner, Angelo Vangelopoulos, will be featured at the James Beard House in New York City on Dec. 21, preparing "A Shenandoah Christmas" dinner of seven-courses featuring local and regional foods paired with White Hall Vineyards offerings. White Hall owners Dr. and Mrs. Antony Champ will speak to diners about the food/wine pairings and the Virginia wine industry.
Angelo spent his formative years in the kitchens of his family’s restaurants before enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduation in 1990, he worked in some of Washington’s most renowned restaurants, including La Colline and Galileo da Roberto Donna. In 1995, Angelo and his family purchased The Ivy Inn Restaurant in Charlottesville. Nearby White Hall Vineyards has received numerous accolades for its wines, both locally and nationally.
The James Beard Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides culinary scholarships to students and promotes gastronomy in America. Tickets for the dinner $115 per person all-inclusive, a discounted rate is available through The Ivy Inn, and reservations can be made by calling the Beard House at 212-627-2308.
