WEST OF WESTERN CULINARY FESTIVAL HEATS UP MARCH 18 – 19, 2006 PHOENIX, ARIZONA
The 2nd Annual celebration of the West of Western Culinary Festival takes place March 18 - 19 in Phoenix, Arizona. The two-day garden party, to be held in the heart of the rapidly growing downtown Phoenix arts and cultural scene, features over fifty chefs who have collectively redefined the image and understanding of Western cuisine.
Award winning and innovative Arizona Chefs Robert McGrath, Roaring Fork; Janos Wilder, Janos; Deborah Knight, Mosaic; Nobuo Fukuda, Sea Saw; Kevin Binkley, Binkley’s; Bradford Thompson, Mary Elaine’s at the Phoenician; Silvana Salcido Esparza, Barrio Café; Michael Cairns, Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa; Reed Groban, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess; Matt Carter, Zinc Bistro, and many, many others for the festival’s Grand Tasting, with Executive Chefs, Chefs de Cuisine and Pastry Chefs will provide samples of their restaurants’ signature offerings.
The party will also include The Wine Table, a special area that will highlight over fifty wineries from local, national and international vineyards. Admission to the Grand Tasting and The Wine Table is inclusive with Festival Full Pass admission. Live acoustic jazz will play under the trees, completing our Garden Party atmosphere.
A stroll through the Palm Court of Arizona Center ends at Desert Diversity Expo presented by Slow Food Phoenix and Community Food Connections, with Native Seeds/SEARCH of Tucson, and The Center for Sustainable Environments at Northern Arizona University, where all may learn about Arizona’s food heritage and hear lectures on progressive food and nutritional concepts.
Debuting last year, the 2nd Annual West of Western Culinary Festival is produced by Cakewalk Projects in partnership with the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau, Slow Food Phoenix, and Community Food Connections, administrator of the Downtown Phoenix Public Market. Additional support for the 2006 Festival is received from Nestle Waters North America, Cold Stone Creamery, the American Lamb Board, and Food & Life Arizona.
West of Western Culinary Festival is held at the Arizona Center, 5th At. & Van Buren, in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Festival hours are 12pm – 5pm, Saturday & Sunday, March 18 – 19, 2006.
Advance ticket prices include: the all-inclusive Festival Full Pass, including dining & wine, is $48.00 a day, $88.00 for both days; The Dining Pass (food only), is $40.00 a day, $74.00 both days. The Youth Pass, for ages 9 - 15 is $14.00 a day, with children 8 and under admitted free with parents or adult guardian.
