ARAMARK Chef Honored During Prestigious Cornell University Guest Chef Program
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2006-- ARAMARK Corporate Executive Chef Michael Crane will present "A Taste of the Olympics" to Cornell University students on April 29, 2006 during the Hotel School's prestigious Guest Chef Program in Ithaca, New York.
Each year Cornell students invite renowned chefs to share their signature cuisine and skills with students and the Cornell community.
Chef Crane was chosen for his expertise preparing for and serving the thousands of athletes and officials at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. There Chef Crane directed a culinary staff of more than 600, including ARAMARK Senior Executive Chef Jack Freedman, who will assist Chef Crane at the event on April 29.
The ARAMARK chefs will prepare a six course menu focusing on regional Mediterranean cuisine, with a special emphasis on the flavors of Greece.
"Chef Crane's culinary and planning skills were crucial to the success of ARAMARK's 'World Menu' of more than 1,500 fresh items," said Marc Bruno, ARAMARK Executive Director of the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, and a Cornell University alumnus. "He and his team served tens of thousands of athletes, officials and staff around the clock for several weeks, meeting all dietary, religious and athletic performance needs." Since 1968, ARAMARK has provided food services at 13 of the world's Olympic Games.
