Calling all Entries….
"Rice to the Rescue!" Recipe Contest
The USA Rice Federation is seeking your tastiest, most-innovative, easy-to-prepare rice recipes for the eighth annual "Rice to the Rescue" contest!
One amateur cook will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize and five finalists will receive $1,000 each. Again this year, there will be a $1,000 cash prize for the "Best Whole Grain Recipe." All winners will also receive a deluxe rice cooker.
Only original and unpublished rice recipes - including appetizers, soups, salads, side dishes, main dishes, or desserts are eligible for the contest. Food professionals will judge entries based on taste, ease of preparation, appearance, and creativity. Recipes must be prepared in 30 minutes or less with no more than six ingredients (excluding butter, margarine, cooking oil, water, salt, and ground black pepper), and must use at least one cup of uncooked American-grown rice (or three cups of cooked rice).
The contest is open to adults 18 years and older who are residents of the United States. Food professionals, including chefs, food writers, food home economists, dietitians, and food educators, as well as employees/members of the rice industry or USA Rice Federation are not eligible to compete.
