H Texas Magazine Announces 2006 Best Chefs Award Recipients Honored at Cocktail Reception

Houston, TX - The 2006 Best Chefs were revealed Saturday, April 1 by H Texas magazine at the Decorative Center Houston. All award-winning chefs were invited to attend the donor's cocktail reception held before the American Cancer Society's 11th Annual Starlight Gala. Twenty-two chefs from some of Houston's most happening kitchens were recognized at the reception for their culinary talents, with Mark Cox of Mark's American Cuisine topping the list at number one.
The 2006 Best Chefs list is featured in the April issue of H Texas magazine, on newsstands now. The Best Chefs are voted onto the list by a collection of ballots, sent out to readers, colleagues and made available on the magazine's website. This year's list featured familiar winners and a few new names on the scene, as well. The 2006 Best Chefs are as follows:

Toby Joseph of The Remington;
Robert Gadsby of Noe;
Charles Clark of ibiza;
Olivier Ciesielski of tony's;

Stacy Crowe of Chez Nous;
Arturo Osorio of Amerigo's Grille;
Arturo Boada of Beso/Arturo's;
John Marion Carrabba of Piatto Ristorante;
Bryan Caswell of Bank;
Randy Evans of Brennan's;
Rafael Galindo of Café Red Onion;
Lynette Hawkins of La Mora;
Mark Holley of Pesce;
Ciro Lampasas of Ciro's;
Ral Nwosu of Ral's Fine Catering Café & Bistro;

The food editor's choice is Robert Del Grande of Café Annie.

The cocktail reception preceded the American Cancer Society's 11th Annual Starlight Gala, which is the organization's premiere black-tie event. The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service. Starlight Gala attendees were also given complimentary issues of H Texas, featuring the 2006 Top Chefs.
