Queens Galley welcomes Chef David Smythe

The Queens Galley is proud to welcome Chef David Smythe and Chef Justine Smythe to our family of volunteers. Chef David Smythe has worked at the Culinary Institute of America for 22 years as a Professor and Chef-Instructor. Chef Smythe teaches all aspects of the culinary curriculum and has taught over 15,000 professional and private students. Chef Smythe has been the executive chef of hotels, country clubs, restaurants and resorts with dining themes ranging from international cuisine to natural foods and macrobiotics. The Culinary Institute of America, a not for profit organization located in Hyde Park, NY, has 2500 students and offers both associate and baccalaureate degrees in the Culinary Arts. It is the foremost culinary college in the United States.

Justine Smythe earned an MBA in International Hotel and Restaurant Management from Cornell University in Paris, holds both associate and a baccalaureate degrees from the Culinary Institute of America. Justine also manages Ashtree Publishing www.herbshealing.com, dedicated to women's health and natural and herbal healing. She has owned a natural foods and Mediterranean restaurant in New York and a catering company in Paris, France. She is the daughter of Susun Weed, renowned herbalist and author.

This remarkable husband and wife team co-own and operate the Smythe House www.Smythehouse.com Barclay Heights Bed and Breakfast, in Saugerties, New York.

Both David and Justine Smythe are international hospitality consultants. The Queens Galley is incredibly fortunate to be able to tap into the resource of talent of this caliber, and for every person who has given a thought to volunteering but just cannot seem to find the time... we can only say that where there is a desire to get involved there is truly time to make a difference and this is exemplified in both David and Justine.
The Queens Galley, a 501 ( c) 3 not for profit organization based in NY offers hands on workshops that bring awareness, relief and prevention of food insecurity in the United States. The organization is run by 100% volunteer foodservice professionals and fully donation funded. Every dollar raised by the Queens Galley is spent directly on programming.
