Greetings Recipe Club.

I hope you find this interesting, I did. It's a list of things you can do with those Bounce sheets that you use in the dryer:

1) Repel mosquitoes - Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

2) Eliminate static electricity from your television screen. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.

3) Dissolve soap scum from shower doors - Clean with a used sheet of Bounce.

4) Freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang one in the closet.

5) Prevent thread from tangling - Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce to eliminate the static cling on the thread before sewing.

6) Prevent musty suitcases - Place an individual sheet of bounce inside.

7) Freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

8) Keep the shock away - Place a sheet of Bounce in your coat pocket to avoid the shock you get getting in and out of the car in the winter.

9) Clean baked on food from a cooking pan - Put a sheet in the pan, fill with water, and let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agents apparently weaken the bond between the food and the pan while the fabric softening agents soften the baked on foods.

10) Eliminate odors in wastebaskets - Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

11) Collect cat hair - rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

12) Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds - Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

13) Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering - A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

14) Deodorize shoes or sneakers - Place a sheet of bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight so they smell great in the morning.

15) Another thing you can do with them is to hang the sheets outside your doors to keep flies from congregating and getting into your house every time the kids open the door.

16) Keep mice from getting into stored things in a camper by placing a Bounce sheet with whatever you are storing, or around pipes and holes.

Well, enough of that! This is a Recipe Club isn't it? OK here are today's recipes from Personal Chef Terry Henderson.

Bon Appetit!

Beef Stroganoff

Serving Size: 6

Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 1/2 pounds beef tenderloin -- cut in thin strips
2 1/3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 1/3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups beef bouillon
1/4 cup sour cream
2 1/3 tablespoons tomato paste
3/8 teaspoon paprika
Salt to taste
1-1/2 cups button mushroom -- cut in half

Dredge beef in flour. In a heavy skillet melt butter with oil and brown the beef and mushrooms (about 5 minutes). Slowly add bouillon to beef, stirring well. Bring to a boil. Combine sour cream,(SEE NOTE BELOW)  tomato paste, paprika, and salt. Slowly stir sour cream mixture into beef mixture. Turn heat to low and bring to a bare simmer. Cook 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently and never allowing mixture to boil.

My suggestion would be to add the sour cream just before serving and skip the cream from this stage of cooking, if this dish is going to be heated and served at a later date.

Serving Ideas: Serve with rice or egg noodles.

NOTES: This is a classic dish for entertaining, heat this dish in a heavy pan on the stove SLOWLY. If using this dish for entertaining you may want to add a little olive oil to the noodles to stop them from sticking.

Mushrooms-Broccoli

Serving Size: 4

Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 pound fresh mushrooms - or 1can whole mushrooms -- 6 - 8 oz. each
1/2 bunch broccoli
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 1/2 tablespoons oil
1/2 clove garlic -- minced
1/8 cup sliced canned water chestnuts
1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 Chicken bouillon cube
3/8 cup boiling water

Rinse, pat dry and halve fresh mushrooms or drain canned mushrooms; set aside. Rinse and trim broccoli; cut stems 1 /2" pieces and cut tops into small flowerets; set aside.

In large wok or skillet, melt butter.  Add onions; saute 2 minutes. Add mushrooms; saute 5 minutes. Remove and set aside. In same wok, heat oil.  Add reserved broccoli and garlic; stir-fry 3 minutes.  Add water chestnuts; stir fry 2 minutes longer.

Blend cornstarch, sugar, salt and ginger with soy sauce. Dissolve bouillon cube in boiling water; stir into cornstarch mixture. Pour into wok.  Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens.  Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until broccoli is just crisp tender, about 5 minutes. Return sauted mushrooms to wok

Heat until hot. Serve with Chinese noodles, if desired, or as a side dish.
