Check this web site: www.ChefRelief.org ChefRelief was set up by Chef Michael Morrison to hands-on feed survivors, manufacture food for their feeding, and to collect funds to be used by the ACF and RCA in relief efforts. Chef Volunteers are needed here. They also need food donations. Chef Michael's contact info: Help@ChefRelief.org When most of us were watching the horror of the World Trade Center on 9/11, Chef Michael Morrison was already there: FEEDING PEOPLE! Chef John Kinsella, president of the ACF has stewardship of any donated funds with the supervision of Chef Michael and Chef Bill Hahne (Pops). National "Dine for America" |
On October 5, 2005, restaurants from across the country will band together in a "Dine for America" day, a national fundraising effort to support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and help those affected by Hurricane Katrina and their families. Operators can donate all or part of their sales or proceeds on October 5th, make a donation for each sale of a specific item, or provide donation canisters for guests to contribute. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go to the hurricane victims and their families via the Red Cross. To be part of this important national effort, click here for further information or visit www.restaurant.org. I don't need to tell you that America's hospitality industry is full of people with good hearts. Our hearts go out to our restaurant friends and family in the Gulf Coast -- to everyone affected by the hurricane -- and we are pleased to be able to galvanize the nation's restaurateurs and foodservice industry in this important effort. |
