CAREER SERVICES

The Career Services Department of Salter College assists students and alumni in all aspects of their job search. The high standard of professional training offered by Salter College for over 65 years has earned an outstanding reputation for providing qualified personnel. The Career Services Department has implemented a Career Directions Seminar, which provides a realistic approach to searching for employment. In addition, students are scheduled for personalized sessions to finalize their job search tools and talk about their individual needs concerning employment. The Career Services Center offers the following services:

Weekly Job Postings, Company Profiles, Job Search Advising, Resume Preparation, Alumni Networking, Externship Opportunities, On-site Career Fairs, Employer Database, Internet Access/E-mail, Reference Books, Laser Printer/Fax Service, Job Search Materials

Employment information is updated and monitored on a continuing basis. The Career Services Department provides lifetime job search assistance to graduates and alumni. Career Fairs are held to provide career information. Human resource professionals meet with students to discuss job search opportunities.

Externships are offered as part of most programs. Students serve an average of three months in their chosen field of study. Externships provide hands-on experience and opportunities, which may lead to employment after graduation.

Career Services are also available to all students in Salter College evening division. Scheduled workshops and individual sessions are held during evening hours.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial aid for those students who qualify is available at Salter College. Each year funds are allocated to Salter College through a variety of federally sponsored grant and loan programs. This aid enables students who need assistance to meet the cost of tuition.

Eligibility for aid and the amount is determined by a needs formula. Each case is different. The school makes an evaluation of the individual with the assistance of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once the extent of eligibility and need is determined, funds are awarded confidentially and impartially.

The school participates in many types of financial aid programs.The financial aid office meets personally with each student to arrange a financial aid package which is most appropriate for his or her situation. More Information
